Comer Suggests Subpoena As Questions Swirl Around Ilhan Omar’s Family Wealth

WASHINGTON D.C.
— The pressure is mounting on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) officially floated the possibility of a subpoena to uncover the source of her family's sudden and massive wealth accumulation.

"It’s Not Possible"

In an interview with the New York Post, Comer did not mince words regarding the staggering increase in net worth reported by Omar and her husband, Tim Mynett. Financial disclosures show the couple’s assets surged from modest means to as much as $30 million in a suspiciously short period.

"There are a lot of questions as to how her husband accumulated so much wealth over the past two years," Comer stated. "It’s not possible. It’s not. I’m a money guy. It’s not possible."

Comer indicated that committee attorneys are actively considering issuing a subpoena to Mynett to force transparency regarding his business activities, specifically the two investment funds—Rose Lake Capital and a California winery—that reportedly drove this exponential growth.

"We’re going to get answers, whether it’s through the Ethics Committee or the Oversight Committee, one of the two," Comer vowed.
