CHAPTER 2 – The Cameras Never Lie

Within minutes, the hospital's main conference room filled with executives, attorneys, board members, and security personnel.
Daniel kept insisting it had all been a misunderstanding.
Olivia cried on command.
"It was an accident," she whispered.
"I was trying to help her."
Arthur didn't answer.
Instead, he looked at Marcus Hale, Chief of Security.
"Show us."
Marcus connected the surveillance system to the enormous conference screen.
The footage began.
Everyone watched in silence.
The first camera clearly showed Emily walking calmly through the lobby.
The second captured Olivia deliberately stepping into her path.
The third revealed everything.
Olivia looked over both shoulders.
Made sure people were watching.
Then shoved Emily with both hands.
A collective gasp filled the room.
Daniel lowered his eyes.
But Marcus wasn't finished.
"I found something else."
He opened another recording.
Different camera.
Different hallway.
Earlier that morning.
Olivia and Daniel stood together outside a private office.
Their voices had been picked up by a nearby security microphone.
Olivia laughed.
"Once she's publicly humiliated, she'll sign the divorce immediately."
Daniel answered coldly.
"She doesn't know the shares are still in her name."
The room became deathly quiet.
Marcus continued playing.
"If she refuses..."
Olivia smiled.
"We'll tell everyone she's mentally unstable."
Arthur slowly turned toward Daniel.
"You tried to destroy my niece's reputation... because legally she still owns thirty-five percent of Carter Medical Technologies?"
Daniel's lips trembled.
He hadn't realized anyone else knew.
Emily simply looked at him.
"I trusted you."
Daniel couldn't meet her eyes.
Arthur stood.
"I think this meeting is over."
May you like
"No," Emily said quietly.
"It's just beginning."
