Three days later, Damian entered what he believed would be an emergency shareholders' meeting.
Instead, he found Isabella sitting at the head of the table.
The seat reserved for the controlling shareholder.
Every board member rose when she entered.
Not one stood for Damian.
He looked around in disbelief.
"What is this?"
The chairman quietly slid a folder toward him.
"Your removal agreement."
Damian laughed nervously.
"You can't remove the CEO."
The chairman answered,
"The controlling owner can."
Damian slowly turned toward Isabella.
"You knew all this time."
She met his eyes.
"I hoped you'd value me before you valued my name."
His shoulders sank.
