Chapter 3: A Family Begins to Fall Apart

News of the surveillance footage spread quickly through the family.
Vanessa insisted she had panicked.
She claimed she never expected the situation to go so far.
No one believed her.
Daniel looked at her with disappointment.
"You didn't just accuse an innocent woman."
"You humiliated her in front of everyone."
Margaret asked Vanessa to leave the mansion immediately.
For the first time in years, the family stopped protecting one of their own simply because of their last name.
Emily packed her housekeeping supplies, convinced she would resign after everything that had happened.
Before she reached the front door, Daniel stopped her.
"You shouldn't be the one walking away."
Emily hesitated.
"I don't know if I belong here anymore."
Daniel answered quietly.
"You've belonged here longer than most of us ever deserved."
Those words echoed through the silent foyer.
Several employees began applauding.
Then the guests joined them.
May you like
Emily cried again.
This time, they were no longer tears of humiliation.
