CHAPTER 3 – The Trial of the Century

Three months later, every seat inside the Montgomery County courtroom was filled.

Reporters lined the walls.

National media covered every moment.

Vanessa entered wearing an expensive gray suit, hoping to appear sympathetic.

It didn't work.

The prosecution played courthouse surveillance footage from six different angles.

The jury watched Vanessa glance around to make sure no one was nearby.

They watched her deliberately shove Khloe.

They watched Khloe lose her footing.

Then came the horrifying fall.

Thirty marble steps.

Silence filled the courtroom.

Vanessa's attorney stood.

"It was an emotional confrontation. My client never intended—"

Harrison interrupted calmly.

"Intent?"

He displayed enlarged text messages recovered through forensic analysis.

"Once she's gone, everything belongs to us."

Another message.

"The baby is the only obstacle left."

The courtroom froze.

Vanessa buried her face in her hands.

Richard closed his eyes.

Harrison wasn't finished.

Forensic accountants then exposed millions of dollars hidden through shell corporations.

Insurance fraud.

Tax evasion.

Forgery.

Bribery.

What began as an assault trial had become the complete destruction of a criminal enterprise.
