CHAPTER 5 – A New Beginning

One year later.
Sunlight poured through the windows of a quiet farmhouse outside Lancaster.
Tiny footsteps echoed across the hardwood floor.
A little girl with bright blue eyes giggled as she stumbled toward her mother.
Khloe laughed through happy tears before lifting her daughter into her arms.
"You've gotten so fast."
The doctors had once doubted either of them would survive.
Now both were healthy.
Both were free.
Harrison arrived carrying a birthday cake shaped like a tiny courthouse.
His niece squealed with excitement.
"Uncle Harry!"
He smiled—the same man newspapers once called the most ruthless lawyer in Pennsylvania now happily wore frosting on his suit because his niece insisted on "helping."
Later that evening, Khloe stood on the porch beside her brother.
"You saved us."
Harrison shook his head.
"No."
"You found the courage to ask for help."
"I simply made sure the truth was louder than the lies."
Inside the house, laughter drifted through the open windows.
There was no mansion.
No luxury cars.
No million-dollar view.
Only family.
Only peace.
Khloe rested a hand on her daughter's back and smiled.
She had once believed losing everything meant the end of her life.
Instead...
May you like
It was the beginning of the life she had always deserved.
The End.
