Chapter 4 - The Midnight Seizure

The medical evacuation took less than five minutes. Jae-min’s private trauma team rushed into the mansion, carefully wrapping my face in specialized sterile burn sheets and lifting me onto a gurney. Jae-min walked beside me until I was safely loaded into the back of the armored ambulance.
"Go with her, Leo," Jae-min ordered his top enforcer. "If she needs a specialist, fly them in from Seoul immediately. Do not leave her side."
"Yes, Don Jae-min," Leo said, slamming the ambulance doors.
As the vehicle sped away toward the private medical center, Jae-min turned back toward the grand Beverly Hills estate. Raymond Park had failed to stay upstairs and was now standing beside his trembling wife on the front driveway, surrounded by the cool night air.
"Mr. Kang, please!" Raymond begged, falling to his knees on the manicured grass. "My wife didn't know! It was an emotional reaction! We will pay for all medical bills! We will give the chef a million dollars! Two million! Anything you want, just don't cancel the commercial contract!"
Jae-min pulled a black linen cloth from his pocket, slowly wiping a small smudge of red stew from the sleeve of his tailored suit jacket.
"The contract is not canceled, Raymond," Jae-min stated flatly. "The contract is now under new management."
He turned to his remaining financial enforcers. "Begin the liquidation protocol. Call our associates at the Federal Trade Commission and the Treasury Department. Every single short-term commercial loan extended to the Park Corporation is to be recalled by midnight. Every asset frozen under the anti-money laundering codes we flagged last month."
Vivian stepped forward, her voice rising into a panicked, frantic shriek. "You can't do that! This house is registered under my family's private trust! You have no legal right to touch our personal estate!"
Jae-min looked at her with a profound, freezing indifference that made her words die in her throat. "Your private trust relies on a monthly liquidity injection from your husband’s offshore accounts in Macau. Accounts that run directly through my syndicate’s clearing banks. By 3:00 AM, those accounts will cease to exist. By sunrise, your luxury boutique in Rodeo Drive and this very mansion will be seized by the state to cover your corporate tax fraud liabilities."

"Raymond, do something!" Vivian screamed, grabbing her husband's shoulders, shaking him violently. "Tell him he can't do this to us! We are the Parks!"
Raymond looked up at his wife, his eyes hollow, full of absolute, blinding hatred. "Shut up, Vivian. You just burned down our entire lives for a bowl of soup."
