Chapter 2: The Viper's Venom

Evelyn didn't go quietly. Stranded at a cheap motel on the outskirts of the city, staring at her ruined mascara in a cracked mirror, her shock quickly curdled into venomous rage. She wasn't sorry for what she did to Eleanor; she was angry she got caught.
"He thinks he can throw me out like trash?" she hissed to herself, dialing her mother, a woman equally obsessed with status. "Julian owes me half of that empire. I gave him the best years of my life!"
The next morning, the drama exploded into the public eye. Evelyn didn't just wait for the lawyers; she went straight to the media. She leaked a highly edited, twisted narrative to the press, claiming Julian was an abusive husband who threw his pregnant wife out into the rain (a blatant lie) to keep his fortune to himself.
By noon, paparazzi besieged the Sterling mansion. The company’s stock began to dip. Julian’s phone was ringing off the hook with panicked board members.
Just as the chaos reached a fever pitch, Evelyn showed up at the gates of the mansion accompanied by a sleazy celebrity lawyer and a camera crew. She demanded entry, screaming that she had a right to her "marital home."
Julian stepped out onto the grand balcony, looking down at the circus below. He didn't look panicked; he looked disgusted. Beside him stood a line of his security personnel, but he didn't order them to push the cameras away. Instead, he grabbed a microphone connected to the estate’s outer PA system.

"Evelyn!" Julian’s voice boomed across the gates, cutting through the shouting reporters. "You want the world to see the truth? Let’s show them the whole truth."
With a nod from Julian, the giant digital screens outside the estate gates—usually reserved for welcoming high-profile guests—flickered to life. But it wasn't a corporate video playing. It was security footage from inside the basement.
