Victor introduced sweeping reforms.

Protection for whistleblowers.
Executives who had abused their power quietly disappeared from the company.
On the anniversary of the banquet, Victor invited every employee—not just executives—to the same ballroom.
The chandeliers still sparkled.
The orchestra played once again.
This time, the front table wasn't reserved for the wealthy.
It was shared by janitors, receptionists, engineers, chefs, and security guards.
Victor stepped onto the stage.
"A company isn't protected by titles," he said.
"It's protected by people with the courage to do what's right."
He looked toward Evelyn.
"One person refused to stay silent."
The entire room stood in applause.
Victor then announced that Evelyn Carter had accepted a new role as Director of Ethics and Corporate Integrity, leading a division dedicated to transparency, employee protection, and fraud prevention.
The audience erupted once more.
Evelyn smiled through tears.
Months earlier she had entered that ballroom wearing a maid's uniform, invisible to nearly everyone.
Now she stood before the same crowd, not because of wealth or status, but because of integrity.
As the evening ended, Victor raised a glass of fresh orange juice.
He paused.
The room laughed softly.
Then he smiled and handed the first glass to Evelyn.
"After you."
She took a careful sip.
"Safe," she said with a grin.
Laughter filled the ballroom.
