"You can't do this to me!" Vanessa screamed, her face contorting with rage as she realized her high-society dream was completely ruined. "My father controls the board of your company! If you walk away from this altar today, we will strip you of every single asset you possess by tomorrow morning!"
"Let them try," Lucas replied coldly, not even bothering to look back at her as she threw a furious tantrum. He turned his back on the bride permanently, kneeling once again in front of Elena and the little girl who was the missing piece of his soul.
Molly sniffled, her wide, gray-blue eyes looking at him with a mixture of innocence and curiosity. Lucas gently reached out, his thumb wiping away a stray tear from her soft cheek. For the first time in his life, he felt a profound, overwhelming sense of true purpose.
"Hey there, Molly," Lucas said softly, a genuine smile breaking through his tears as he took her tiny hand. "I'm so sorry it took me so long to find you. But I promise you, nobody is ever going to yell at you or make you feel small again."
Two security guards entered the foyer, responding to the commotion. Lucas signaled them with a sharp nod toward Vanessa. "Escort the former bride and her family off the property immediately. They are no longer welcome here, and any attempt to return will be treated as criminal trespass."
