Chapter 2: A Lifetime of Lies

The police and paramedics arrived within minutes.

As doctors treated Lily, detectives began interviewing every guest.

Julian insisted it had been an accident.

"It happened so fast," he pleaded. "I barely touched her."

The detective quietly replayed the footage.

Frame by frame.

Slow motion revealed Julian deliberately planting both hands on Lily's shoulders before forcefully pushing her.

There was no stumble.

No accident.

Only anger.

While Julian was being questioned, an elderly housekeeper slowly approached me.

"I've worked for your parents for twenty-eight years," she whispered.

"There are things you deserve to know."

She handed me a small envelope.

Inside were photographs.

Medical reports.

Police complaints that had mysteriously disappeared.

Children Julian had bullied.

Employees he had assaulted.

Former girlfriends whose injuries had always been explained away.

Every incident had been buried with money and influence.

My parents hadn't protected him once.

They had protected him his entire life.
