The following morning Daniel ordered a complete audit of every company under the Carver organization.
Within hours another discovery surfaced.
Claire had secretly worked with her father, Victor Whitlock, for nearly two years.
Together they had diverted millions of dollars through fake construction contracts while blaming Carver businesses whenever investigators got close.
Aaron had uncovered the fraud.
Caleb Monroe had copied the financial records.
Both men disappeared within weeks.
Daniel's jaw tightened.
"They wanted me blamed for murders I never ordered."
Claire burst into his office.
"You actually believe a maid over me?"
"I believe evidence."
She laughed nervously.
"You'll never prove anything."
Daniel placed Aaron's notebook on the desk.
Claire's confidence disappeared.
