The gunfire started, tearing through the cinderblock walls. Chloe huddled beneath the metal desk, covering her head as concrete shrapnel rained down on her.

Suddenly, the gunfire stopped. The heavy, thumping sound of a helicopter descended upon the peak. Through a bullet hole in the wall, Chloe saw a sleek, black chopper touch down on the ridge. A man stepped out, flanked by heavily armed guards. He wore a tailored overcoat, completely untouched by the mud and blood of the mountain. Julian Vance.
"Chloe!" Julian's voice carried over a megaphone, smooth and venomous. "It's over, sweetheart. Your mother was a stubborn fool, and it got her killed. Elias was a relic. Don't throw your life away. Bring me the drive, and you can walk away."
