Chapter 10: The Complication
Dr. Evans walked into the waiting room, his face grim. Arthur stood up immediately.
"We stabilized her," the doctor said softly. "But the stress, the shock... she went into premature labor. We had to perform an emergency C-section."
"And?" Arthur choked out.

"The baby is in the NICU. He's very weak. As for Clara... the trauma caused a severe hemorrhage. She's in a coma. I won't lie to you, Arthur. Her chances of waking up are slim."
Arthur fell back into his chair, the world spinning. Ruby had won. Even in handcuffs, she had struck the fatal blow.
