Chapter 35 - The Girl in the Tower"I found her," Elias said the moment Renata stepped back into the War Room.

He pulled up a satellite image of a heavily fortified compound nestled in the mountains of Puebla. It looked like a luxury resort, but the high walls and barbed wire told a different story.

"Clínica San Miguel," Elias explained. "It’s a private psychiatric facility for the ultra-wealthy. Camila Del Rio isn't in Europe. She’s been locked in this compound for six years under a forced medical conservatorship ordered by her father."

Renata stared at the compound. She recognized the design perfectly. It wasn't a hospital. It was a gilded cage.

"He declared her mentally unfit to keep her quiet," Renata deduced. "If she is the sole heir, she had access to his ledgers. She must have found out what he was doing."

"We can't just walk in, Renata," Elias warned. "It’s heavily guarded by private mercenaries."

"I am a lawyer, Elias," Renata said, grabbing her briefcase. "I don't need a battering ram to break down a door. I just need a loophole."

Three hours later, Renata’s armored SUV pulled up to the heavy iron gates of Clínica San Miguel. The armed guards stepped forward, raising their hands.

Renata rolled down the window and handed the lead guard a legally binding document.

"I am executing a sudden health-and-welfare inspection mandated by the International Human Rights Commission," Renata stated coldly. "Accompanied by a medical proxy. If you deny me entry, you will be arrested for unlawful imprisonment under federal mandate."

The guard looked at the seal on the paper, then at the three news vans that had conveniently just parked behind Renata's SUV, their cameras rolling.

Reluctantly, the gates opened.
