Chapter 37 - The Black LedgerIn the absolute safety of the underground War Room at Vanguardia Legal, a private medical team worked for three days to carefully detox Camila from the heavy sedatives.

By the fourth day, the fog had lifted. Camila sat on a plush sofa, holding a cup of warm tea, looking at Renata and Elias with profound gratitude.
"He locked me away because I found it," Camila said, her voice raspy but gaining strength.
"Found what, Camila?" Renata asked gently.
"The source of his power. My father doesn't trust computers. He knows everything can be hacked. He controls the cartel, the politicians, the judges... all of it through extortion. He has physical evidence. Tapes, photographs, signed confessions."
Camila looked down at her hands.
"He keeps it all in a Black Ledger. It’s a massive physical vault hidden beneath his private estate in Valle de Bravo. If you get that vault, you don't just destroy Hector Del Rio. You destroy the entire corrupt foundation of this country."
Elias looked at Renata, his eyes wide. "A physical vault. That’s why we couldn't find a digital money trail. He's operating like it's the 1980s."
Renata’s mind raced.
"We can't just leak this to the press. If Hector gets wind of an investigation, he will burn the estate to the ground and destroy the evidence."
"So how do we get it?" Camila asked.

Renata stood up, a dangerous fire igniting in her eyes.
"We don't investigate him. We ambush him."
