Arthur the investigator did not stop with the financial bombshells.
He handed me a copy of a newly drafted life insurance policy.
Mark had recently taken out a massive two-million-dollar policy on his own life.
However, I was absolutely shocked when I looked at the listed beneficiary.
My name was nowhere to be found on the legal document.
The primary beneficiary was a woman named Chloe Adams.
Arthur confirmed that Chloe was the blonde woman from the surveillance photographs.
My husband had essentially ensured his mistress would be wealthy if he died.
Meanwhile, he had left me with a mountain of forged debt and a broken body.
A sudden flash of hot, blinding anger finally cut through my heavy grief.
I realized Eleanor’s cruel slap was the least of my immediate problems.
If I did not fight back, I would lose my home, my credit, and my future.
I looked over at my father, who was watching me with a sad but proud expression.
He knew that I needed to find my strength right now.
I asked Arthur if we could challenge the forged loan documents.
Arthur nodded slowly, explaining that he had already contacted a ruthless estate lawyer.
